We all misplace things in the house from time to time and convince ourselves we’ve got a poltergeist – or serious memory loss.
One mum admits she thought she was ‘going mad’ when money kept going missing from her purse.
Mum Rachel Thornhill, who blogs under the name ‘ Staying sane as a mummy of 3 ‘, shared her confusion on Facebook when her money kept going missing.
Rachel wrote: “Have been convinced for weeks that I’m going slightly mad (or madder than usual!).
“Money kept vanishing from my purse! A pound here, 20p there, nothing major but coins I’m sure had been there now weren’t.
Rachel searched all over the house but couldn’t find the notes she had misplaced, or the coins she was sure had vanished into thin air.
Then she found the culprit.
“A thorough search of the house turned up nothing… until I settled down for a spot of role play with Esme! Found a grand total of £67.85 in her toy till!
“Seemed she’s making a fortune from plastic sweet corn and a can of fake alphabet soup!”
Esme is Rachel’s three-year-old daughter and had been having lots of fun playing with real money in her plastic till.
